We only collect information we actually need in order to quote and complete work for you. That usually includes:

• Your name, phone number and email address
• The address of the property the work relates to
• Details about your enquiry, such as the area you are in, what you are looking to have done, your approximate budget range and your preferred timeframe
• Information about your existing electrical or solar setup, including photographs taken during a site inspection
• Your electricity retailer, meter number or NMI, where this is needed for a grid connection application
• Records of our communications with you, including emails, text messages and phone calls. Calls to our business number may be recorded for quality and training purposes, and you will be advised of this at the start of the call

We do not collect government identity documents, bank account details or credit card numbers through our website or through our advertising forms.

• Directly from you, by phone, email, in person or at a site inspection
• Through enquiry forms on our website
• Through enquiry forms on Facebook and Instagram, where you choose to submit your details to us through an advertisement
• From our Google Business Profile, when you call or message us through it

When you submit an enquiry form, you are consenting to us contacting you about that enquiry.

We use your personal information to:

• Respond to your enquiry and answer your questions
• Prepare a quote and arrange a site inspection
• Carry out the work, including ordering equipment and lodging grid connection paperwork
• Send you appointment reminders and updates about your job
• Send you follow up messages about your enquiry, including by SMS and email
• Ask you for a review after a completed job
• Meet our legal, licensing and warranty obligations
• Improve our services and our advertising

If you enquire with us, we may contact you by phone, SMS or email about that enquiry and about our services.

You can opt out at any time. Reply STOP to any SMS, click the unsubscribe link in any email, or contact us using the details at the end of this policy. We will action opt out requests promptly and it will not affect any work we are already doing for you.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where it is necessary, including with:

• Our customer relationship management and communications platform, which stores your enquiry and sends our emails and text messages on our behalf
• Our job management software, used to schedule and complete your job
• Our marketing agency, which manages our advertising and enquiry follow up on our behalf
• Equipment suppliers and subcontracted installers, where needed to complete your job
• Your electricity distributor and retailer, where needed for a grid connection or metering
• A third party finance provider, but only if you ask us about finance and only with your consent. Finance is provided by the finance provider directly, not by MRF Electrical. Any finance application is assessed and approved by them, subject to their own criteria
• Our accountants, insurers and professional advisers
• Government or regulatory bodies, where we are required by law

Some of these providers may store data outside Australia. Where that is the case, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled in line with this policy.

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, and we use analytics tools on our website. These tools may use cookies and similar technologies to measure how our advertising performs.

Where you have submitted an enquiry, we may share a securely hashed version of your contact details with advertising platforms so they can measure which advertisements led to enquiries. This is used for measurement only, not to identify you to anyone else, and the information is encrypted before it is sent.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can adjust your advertising preferences within Facebook and Instagram.

We store your information in secure, access controlled systems. We limit access to team members who need it to do their job. We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or for as long as the law requires us to keep records, and we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it when it is no longer needed.

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time. There is no charge for this.

You can also ask us to delete your information, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it for legal, warranty or safety reasons.
